Parents demanding action and a future
There are so many ways to get involved. You could do work online from home, come to events or meetings, you could help organise events and campaigns, you could develop policy, you could do activities with children, you could share our content on social media, you could create our social media, you could bake cakes, you could carry out research and analysis, talk to your friends about us, lobby MPs, interrupt meetings, do the 5 Minute Friday email…whatever your skills and time available there is something you can do.
Meet ups
We meet regularly for actions, such as the pre-climate strike meets, hands on activities and protests such as the Carnival of Creatures. A lot of the work we do is done remotely, and via social media, email and using tools such as Trello and Zoom to have meetings at parent suitable times.
We have a Facebook group which we use to communicate, plan, share thoughts, worries, ideas. We ask that people don’t share links, especially ones about depressing things. If you’re in the group you’re already paying attention to what’s happening and it can be really overwhelming.
We also have a Facebook page – ‘like’ us to make sure you know about the events and actions and so on, but without the discussion, nuts and bolts and behind the scenes.
